Students can take courses worthy maximum 20 credits per semester, 8 credits at most outside their major. 1 credit equals 16 academic hours at Tsinghua. Courses are between 2 and 4 credits. For more information, please see Tsinghua University Fact Sheet .
Students are expected to have HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Band 6 or new HSK Band 5 or above.
Students can take cross-faculty modules as long as the course credits taken are less than 8 credit points. Students, however, cannot take modules of foreign languages, physical training, and arts.
To promote better mutual exchange and communication between various culture backgrounds, Tsinghua do not accept Chinese citizens coming for an exchange.
Student Life is Tsinghua's centre for student support, including: Housing & Dining, Athletics & Recreation, Health & Wellness, Arts & Culture, Student Activities and Student Experience.
THU will try prioritizing university-level exchange students with on-campus accommodation at Zijing Foreign Student Apartment.
Tsinghua participates in the Chinese Government Scholarship scheme and encourages students to apply for this. Applications are accepted from January- April. More information can be found here.
International students are required to be covered with medical insurance for the duration of their stay in China.

Tsinghua University is only a short distance away from the UNESCO protected imperial Summer Palace. Dominated by Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake, the grounds cover an expanse of 2.9 square kilometres and are a masterpiece of Chinese landscape design dating back to the Qing dynasty.
