Programme

A full time study load at SMU is 4.0 SMU credits per semester. This is approximately 4 courses per semester. 1 SMU credit consists of 39 contact hours per semester.

The language of instruction at SMU is English.

Academic Information

Students may choose courses from a list of selected undergraduate courses. The final course list will be sent to students approximately two weeks before course enrolment. 

Students can search for courses in the SMU Course Catalogue.

Demand can be high for some courses and students are encouraged to be pro-active and flexible in their study plan. Students must meet any pre-requisite requirements.

Accommodation:

Students are responsible for finding their own accommodation. Upon successful enrolment, students will be provided with a list of private housing options that extend corporate discounts exclusively to SMU students. This resource will include a comprehensive housing guide with tips and advice. Students have the flexibility to source and arrange their own accommodation based on their needs and preferences.

Miscellaneous fee:

This is a mandatory fee of approximately S$400 per year and covers registration, matriculation, medical insurance, IT services and student activities.

Medical insurance:

It is mandatory for all students to purchase the SMU Medical Insurance. The cost for this is included in the SMU Miscellaneous Fee.
