Find your place with a Postgraduate Student Support Scholarship

Broaden your horizons with postgraduate study

We have 100 Postgraduate Student Support Scholarships to support UK students from low and middle income households. The scholarships are available for most programmes starting in September 2025 and consist of £3,000 towards a Taught Master's and £2,000 for a Research Master's. Durham graduates will be also eligible for our alumni discount in addition to the scholarship.

Eligibility

Postgraduate Student Support Scholarship Statistics

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Study an eligible full or part-time postgraduate programme, excluding Integrated Master's. Part time recipients will be paid pro-rata 50% per year for each of the two years of study.
  • Live in the UK (classified as Home for tuition fee purposes)
  • Do not already hold a Master's level qualification
  • If you study a full time two year Master's programme, the award is tenable during the first year only
  • In receipt of maintenance loan above the minimum loan i.e. have a household income level below £62,347 in the final year of their undergraduate study as assessed by Student Finance England or equivalent
