The year 2024 sees many elections taking place around the world. Nearly half the world’s population, in more than 80 countries, are due to head to the polls. It has been called the Year of Elections. Elections provide an opportunity to talk about the most important issues facing society today.

Voters in the United Kingdom went to the polls on Thursday 4 July in a General Election – the first since 2019. Elections provide an opportunity to talk about the most important issues facing society today.
