Ask the Library for More Books
Did you know that you can request copies of books through the library to make sure you can access the information you need?
As we approach the exam and assessment period, now is the perfect opportunity to think about what you need to access for your exams, assessments or dissertation.
More Books is an easy and direct way for you to tell us about books you would like to be added to the Library, either to support your studies or for non-academic purposes.
Available to all staff and students
All members of the University can request the library to purchase a book for the library collection. This could be another copy of a book we already have, a book you need for your dissertation or academic research work, or something to support your wellbeing and read at your leisure.
You can also request items from your Reading List:
- If you’re a student making a request, you can complete our Resource Request Form (see below)
- If you're a staff member, you can make a request to add Reading List items via Talis Aspire
How to make a request
Before completing our Resource Request form, please check Discover to see if we already have the item you need, either as an online resource or a physical copy in Bill Bryson Library.
To make a request, simply complete our Resource Request Form. Use the ‘item type’ menu on the form to tell us what you want, such as a book, journal or thesis, then select a ‘delivery option’ to say how you want it delivering to you.
Important things to note:
- Please allow 7 working days to process a request
- Standard print orders usually take to 1-4 weeks but may take longer to arrive, depending on availability
- eBooks are usually available within a few days of ordering. However, not everything is available for the Library to buy as an eBook due to licensing restrictions
