Identifying Future-Proof Science by Peter Vickers (book cover)
All are welcome to attend the book launch and drinks reception for Peter Vickers’ forthcoming book 'Identifying Future-Proof Science' due to be published by Oxford University Press later this year.
- First book to directly engage with the question of how to identify future-proof science
- Takes a transdisciplinary approach in its combination of historical, philosophical, and sociological methods
- Offers a companion to Alexander Bird's Knowing Science and The Tangle of Science by Nancy Cartwright et. al., both forthcoming with OUP
- Provides a thorough discussion of the reliability of the immediate scientific knowledge that emerged during the first stages of the Covid-19 pandemic
Please confirm attendance by contacting admin.chess@durham.ac.uk
Please note that there will be a CHESS Seminar before this event with Dr Joseph D. Martin (Durham University).
