EDI Committee

The Departmental Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee promotes all aspects of EDI within the department. It comprises representatives from our faculty, non-academic staff, and postdoctoral, postgraduate, and undergraduate communities.

The EDI committee organises events and initiatives each term to highlight EDI issues and promote a welcoming and inclusive environment in the department. Recurring annual events include invited lectures to celebrate Black History Month and International Women's Day. Within the EDI Committee, the Self-Assessment Team (SAT) subcommittee oversees the Department's Athena Swan activities.

Staff and students can anonymously share feedback with the EDI committee via this online form. Given the anonymous nature of the form, we kindly ask that all comments remain constructive and respectful of others.

You can also get in touch with Prof Pankaj Vishe (pankaj.vishe@durham.ac.uk), the current chair of the EDI Committee, regarding any EDI-related matters or concerns.
