Milan Matev was appointed as an Undergraduate Research Intern in Durham Law School, and has prepared a report on the UK Government's approach to the rule of law in the context of the Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Act 2024.
The UCNP Project, in collaboration with Durham's Careers & Enterprise team, hosted Milan Matev as a research intern through the Reimagine Research Internship Programme. This programme seeks to provide students from backgrounds underrepresented in academic research an opportunity to access high quality and meaningful work experience in that area.
Milan, an undergraduate (LLB) at the Law School was intern on the Project for 6 weeks. He prepared a report focussing on the UK Government's treatment of unwritten constitutional norms and principles, particularly the rule of law, in the context of its Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Act 2024. His research will be shared more widely soon, and was supervised by Nick Kilford, Postdoctoral Research Associate at Durham Law School and researcher on the UCNP Project's UK Team.
