It was a great privilege to host Mr Justice Robin Knowles CBE at Durham International Dispute Resolution Institute. Justice Knowles delivered an insightful lecture on "The Complexity of Commercial and International Arbitration," offering a profound discussion on the role of courts/arbitrators in upholding the rule of law. Our students engaged deeply with the topic, and Justice Knowles generously dedicated a total of two hours to his lecture and answering their many questions. It was an honour to facilitate this invaluable opportunity for our students to learn from such a distinguished judge, an experience they will undoubtedly remember for years to come.

At the start of the lecture, Hon. Justice Jawad Hassan, Judge of the Lahore High Court (Pakistan), graciously introduced Justice Knowles and SIFOCC, setting the stage for an enlightening discussion. It was also a pleasure to meet Nelli Kichigina, a judicial assistant at the English High Court Ministry of Justice UK.

Many thanks to Justice Knowles and Justice Hassan for accepting my invitation and to everyone who attended this remarkable event, both in person and online!
