Guest lecture with Suzanne Kingston on the amendments to the Family Procedure Rules
Durham Law School
On 29 April 2024 the amendment to the Family Procedure Rules came into force.
The definition of Non-Court Dispute Resolution has been extended to include mediation, arbitration, early neutral evaluation and collaborative law. The list is not exhaustive. Before issuing proceedings the applicant must attend a Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting, unless exempt. The exemptions have been greatly reduced. This guest lecture discusses the amendments to the rules and their far reaching implications.
