Welcome and Introduction

Congratulations on receiving your offer from Durham!

We know that you will have a lot of questions. What would it be like to study History at Durham? How do we help new students adjust to study at university? What does the programme offer? How is it assessed? You need to think about all these things as you decide where to study.

We’ll be happy to answer those questions at one of our Post-Offer Visit Days. We’ll have a presentation that covers adjusting to university study and explains our programme; we’ll have a couple of ‘taster’ lectures that give you a sense of the kind of things we teach – and how we teach them. And you will have an opportunity to talk with staff and ask questions – and to hear from a current student about their experience.

So please do sign up for a Post-Offer Visit Day – we look forward to seeing you!

A quick final word on space – we understand that you may want to come with a family member or someone close. That’s great, and they will be welcome too, but if the sessions get very full we may have to ask them to wait outside for a little while, to make sure we have space for offer-holders.
