We aim to:
- Have a significant presence at the research forefront of fluid mechanics
- Proactively promote and grow fluid mechanics research internationally
- Improve the world by the applying our knowledge in a variety of real world applications
Areas of interest:
- Aerodynamics of wind farms and wind turbines, wind turbine erosion
- Functional surfaces, droplet and free surface flows
- Transport aerodynamics (including low-carbon options); novel propulsion systems, complex solid-fluid interactions
- Unsteady flow induced vibrations, passive and dynamic flow control, pulsating flows, flow instability and waves, pulsatile flow dynamics
- Experimental fluid mechanics, aeroacoustics and vehicle aerodynamics
- Gas and steam turbine aerodynamics, novel sealing technology
