Fluid Mechanics Node
We offer expertise in Zero carbon aircraft, Vertical axis wind turbines, Compressed Gas Energy Storage, Wakes and energy conversion for Wind and Offshore Energy, Geothermal Energy, Droplet Formation and more,
We aim to
- have a significant presence at the research forefront of theoretical/computational and experimental fluid mechanics
- proactively promote and grow fluid mechanics research internationally, spanning interdisciplinary boundaries
Areas of interest:
- Wind farms; functional surfaces, droplet and free surface flows
- Transport aerodynamics (including low-carbon options); novel propulsion systems, complex solid-fluid interactions
- Unsteady flow induce vibrations, passive and dynamic flow control, pulsating flows, flow instability and waves
