Your 2024-25 student reps are:

Kaarina Leong

BA in Theology, Ministry & Mission

I love learning and am passionate about its importance in equipping learners for their futures. I have twenty-one years of experience as a teacher and served as a school governor for Standards and Effectiveness for five years. I understand how external standards and expectations can influence internal practices, and thus when issues are raised, whether it is likely that they can be resolved internally.

As someone on a bespoke pathway (2021-2025) who has experienced both part-time and full-time training, I have insight into the advantages and challenges of both pathways. I am friendly and approachable. As a person of Global Majority Heritage, I would also like to ensure that GMH students are sufficiently represented on and to the Common Awards Management Board.

Remley Mann

Diploma in Theology, Ministry & Mission

I spent my professional life as an educator, with a particular passion for making education accessible to all and for promoting lifelong learning.  Before I retired in August 2022, I was Principal at King Edward VI College, Stourbridge - an A-level college with a very diverse student population of approximately 3,000 students.  I have experience of dealing with a broad range of student issues, including the promotion of student voice and safeguarding.  Although the end of my career was focused on the strategic issues related to delivering a high quality student experience and outcomes, my career was shaped by my passion for teaching and my view that educational opportunities are transformative.  Now, I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to study with Lindisfarne College of Theology (LCT).  I am as excited today about the course as I was before I started.  Students at Lindisfarne come from a wide range of life experiences and we all benefit from the growth we promote in each other.  I believe I would make a good student representative because of my experience and because I care deeply about contributing positively and constructively to LCT and Common Awards so that it continues to thrive, grow and develop.

Thomas Morgan

MA in Theology, Ministry & Mission

I currently serve as a full-time Salvation Army officer (minister), having completed my training at William Booth College, London, in 2022. During training, I was a student representative on the course board, offering student feedback on academic issues.

Prior to training for ministry, for a number of years I was Head of Performing Arts in a large secondary school in Birmingham. Alongside this, I trained a number of teachers, as well as working as a part-time lecturer in education at Birmingham City University.

I am passionate about education, particularly teaching and learning. This interest has been developed further into theological education and training. With my previous experience in education and teaching, as well as my current experience within The Salvation Army, I feel I would be able to be an able student representative.
