An audit of the professionals in the fields of ‘Youth Ministry’ and ‘Children’s and Families Ministry’ who are qualified at doctoral level

Becca Dean, Ridley Hall

Initial Description

This project seeks to produce a report that audits the current community of professionals trained to doctoral level. It will also provide a comprehensive list of their specialist research areas, and the pathways and institutions which have enabled their doctoral-level training. Furthermore, by undertaking a survey within this community, this audit will enable us to identify both opportunities and challenges for growth in this field.

The proposed methodology to undertake this research is for the Principal Investigator (Becca Dean) to work collaboratively on a survey with Revd Dr Sally Nash (Senior Research Fellow, St Padarn’s), Dr Carolyn Edwards (Ministry with Children and Young People Officer, Church of England), Dr Jo Griffiths (Children and Families Ministry Tutor, Ridley Hall) amongst other professionals in the field. We would seek to produce a report which will disseminate this information as well as make recommendations for future development considering our data. We would hope that further collaborative work might be built on this work, particularly making use of such a comprehensive account of this community of re-searching professionals.
