This project aims to critically analyse both conceptual and methodological practices in astrobiology, particularly as regards attitudes to ‘risk’ and ‘reward’ in the face of great uncertainty, in order to offer concrete proposals for better practice in the future.
This project will take a major step forward in establishing the foundations of astrobiology as a transdisciplinary research field with potentially transformative consequences for scientific practice.

Bringing together a unique configuration of natural scientists, social scientists and arts and humanities scholars from all around the world, the project Ordered Universe – Interdisciplinary Readings of Medieval Science integrates the conceptual tools of modern science with the textual methods of the humanities to explore the richness of the English bishop and scholar Robert Grosseteste's (c. 1170-1253) treatises on natural phenomena.
The video shows a 2D visualisation of Robert Grosseteste's treatise on light which is an imaginative leap. It is based solidly on the mathematical translation of the treatise by the Ordered Universe team.
