Why study Anthropology at Durham?
And what is it like at Durham? Fieldschools for everyone, huge flexibility and the choice between Joint Honours, a broad degree integrating social, evolutionary and medical anthropology or a more specialised degree in social, evolutionary anthropology, or health and human sciences.
Find out more about our undergraduate Anthropology degree courses by visiting the individual programme pages or contact us for more information.
It's not all about studying. Our students tell it like it is alongside information about student support and our active student-led Anthropology Society (AnthSoc). Join us here at Durham for an amazing experience.
I have loved studying anthropology at Durham as it teaches you the skills to tackle global, contemporary human problems, through studying the past, to shape the future. The diversity of the subject is my favourite aspect of studying anthropology, I can choose what to study and learn flexibly with top experts in the subject!
Did we mention Fieldwork? We are the only UK Department to offer a residential field course to all our undergraduate students. Fieldwork is a central method of research throughout anthropology.
Going to university is a major decision, and we are dedicated to supporting applicants from minority backgrounds, or who are among the first in their family to go to university.
