Both Durham City and University have a strong Christian heritage - as testified by Durham's magnificent Cathedral. There are many Christian churches located in Durham, including Church of England (Anglican), Roman Catholic, Methodist, Baptist and United Reformed denominations. Many of our colleges have a Christian chaplain and chapels with regular Sunday services. These colleges will also often hold special celebrations, such as carol services and other events, held throughout the year.

In addition to the chaplains based in individual colleges, the University provides access to chaplains who serve the needs of all students, regardless of their college.
