Esports has found a home at Durham University and is now a key part of the Wider Student Experience
Keep up to date with the esports events that Durham has to offer and come along!
At the very heart of esports at Durham is our esports team, represented by Durham University Esports and Gaming (DUEG)
From their beginnings as a society, they have undergone significant growth since their inception and are now included as a part of Team Durham.
Our students participate in several national esports leagues all year long which covers 12 games, including Valorant, League of Legends and CS:GO and have had significant success as a result.
As a pivotal part of the new university esports strategy, DUEG's primary objective allows students to take part in regular team based, online competitions to build relationships, teamwork and soft skills. The community is also a highly energetic, fun place to be.

New for 2024! Did you know we now have our own Esports facility? Located at Maiden Castle, the hub was created to allow students to practice and play together in a social environment!
We are proud to be in a position to forge valuable partnerships within the esports industry, allowing for creative collaboration opportunities and to strengthen the links between higher education and esports.
To support the esports strategy, the Esports Advisory Board was established. Consisting of senior staff, academics, industry professionals and exec DUEG members, the board meets quarterly to discuss the development of the strategy and improvements of the esports service at Durham.
