Accommodation

Our accommodation is spread across seven blocks centred around a lawned area and a biodiverse lake, see below for images of our college grounds and the wildlife that lives in and around our lake. All our accommodation is fully catered during term time and we do not offer any self-catered packages. However, access to cooking facilities is available for students who stay in College accommodation outside of term time.

The facilities available vary between these buildings, but all our student rooms have, a bed, chair, desk, storage for your possessions and access to wifi.

The vast majority of our Freshers (first year Undergraduate students) stay in single standard accommodation with shared bathroom facilities. We do have a small number of ensuite rooms for Undergraduate first year students and these are initially allocated based on medical need.

Deerness

Deerness contains 97 single-bed ensuite rooms. Each floor has a kitchen area that residents can use, and laundry facilities are available on the ground floor. The majority of rooms in this accommodation block are occupied by Postgraduate students.

Derwent

Derwent contains 55 single-bed standard rooms. Each floor has shared shower and WC facilities, as well as a pantry comprising of a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge for residents use. Laundry facilities can be found on the ground floor of this block.

Middleton

Middleton contains 63 single-bed standard rooms. Each floor has shared shower and WC facilities, as well as a pantry comprising of a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge for residents use. Laundry facilities can be found on the ground floor of this block.

Tees

Tees contains 102 single-bed standard rooms. Each floor has shared shower and WC facilities, as well as a pantry comprising of a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge for residents use. Laundry facilities can be found on the 1st floor of this block.

Tunstall

Tunstall contains 30 double-bed ensuite rooms (additional double-bed charge applies). Each room has a bath, shower and WC. All residents of this block have access to the communal lounge on the first floor and the communal pantry comprising of a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge and laundry facilities on the second floor. This block is only available to returning Undergraduate students (second, third and fourth year students).

Tyne

Tyne contains 100 single-bed standard rooms. Each floor has shared shower and WC facilities, as well as a pantry comprising of a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge for residents use. Laundry facilities can be found on the 1st floor of this block.

Wear

Wear contains 56 single-bed standard rooms. Each floor has shared shower and WC facilities, as well as a pantry comprising of a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge for residents use. Laundry facilities can be found on the ground floor of this block.
