A new study shows that retired rugby players who have suffered multiple concussions have abnormal levels of certain proteins in their blood.

Our Chancellor and distinguished foreign affairs expert, Dr Fiona Hill, has been appointed by the Prime Minister Keir Starmer to co-lead a comprehensive review of the UK Armed Forces. The announcement follows several Durham University alumni and supporters having recently been elected to the House of Commons or taking seats in the House of Lords.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine remains of immense concern to us all. Almost 6,000 Durham University students have celebrated their graduation, in a week of ceremonies marking our Summer Congregation 2024.

This summer, the Chapel Choir of University College (known as Castle Chapel Choir) will be embarking on a tour spanning the UK and Italy to share their vocal talents. Including well-known UK venues, the tour also includes St Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican in Italy.
