Ralph Whitell Waggett
Creating scholarships in Law and History
Ralph Whitell Waggett was a friend and supporter of our University. He lived locally in Richmond, where he based his career as a solicitor. Ralph had a strong interest in the history of Richmond, and a great desire to support the North East England and the North Yorkshire area.
Ralph wished to help others from the local area access postgraduate education, so he left a gift in his will to create a scholarship in his name. The Ralph Whitell Waggett Studentship supports local students from low-income backgrounds to undertake a Masters by Research in either Law or History.
I am immensely grateful for my selection for this bursary. This support will not only make a significant difference in my life but will also contribute to the advancement of knowledge and positive change towards the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and for the betterment of current and future generations.
