Information for Guests

Guests with tickets, will be directed from Palace Green to the Galilee Chapel entrance of the Cathedral, approximately 45 minutes before the ceremony start time. Guests wishing to sit together, should enter the cathedral at the same time (seats are not allocated).

You are recommended to dress smartly, as the ceremonies are a formal event, but without hats, which can restrict the view for other guests.

Guest Tickets

Graduating students are able to request, and will be guaranteed, up to 2 guest tickets during registration. Please note only students can request guest tickets.

The ceremony is a formal occasion and can involve a lot of waiting around. Please consider this before bringing a small child along. Tickets are required for children over the age of 2, under 2's can sit on a your lap.

Pushchairs can be accommodated inside the Cathedral. Children and babies cannot be seated with the graduand, they must be seated with an adult guest, in the guest section of the Cathedral.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult in compliance with our Safeguarding Policy

The ceremony will be streamed live in a university building, which may be more comfortable for guests with very small children.
