Enhancing Biodiversity at Durham

Sustainability is central to our University Strategy, aiming for a net biodiversity gain by 2032. Our 2022-2023 Biodiversity Strategy enhances biodiversity across our 251-hectare Estate. 

We won the Nature Positive award for our Biodiversity Strategy in the UK & Ireland Green Gown Awards 2023. This year we have been shortlisted as a finalist for the same award category in the International Green Gown Awards 2024.
