Durham Sixth Form Centre Art Exhibition
Art students from Durham Sixth Form Centre were invited to display their work in the British Museum touring exhibition, Pushing Paper: Contemporary drawing from 1970 to now.
Working around the five themes of the exhibition - power and protest, systems and process, space and place, time and memory, and identity - the students were encouraged to consider the different ways in which they could push the limits of what drawing can be.
Exploring their personal responses to these themes enabled the students to critically reflect on their surroundings, through the lens of drawing. Approaches such as ink and pencil on paper, digital drawing, textile work, and sculpture, represented the underlining importance of increased diversity and visibility within the arts.
