Local Artist Ruth Flowers
Local Artist Ruth Flowers will be running an art workshop, aimed at children aged 7-11 years old, where children can create and model their own little beast out of clay. These clay creatures will be inspired by the folklore of County Durham and will be displayed as part of the upcoming exhibition ‘Beasts and Legends: Adventures through North East Folklore’. It is an opportunity to get creative, learn about folktales, have fun, and take part in an exhibition!
Attendance is free but booking is essential to ensure access to resources.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
FREE of charge
All materials provided. No experience necessary.
Please note that children will not be able to take away their creations immediately. Their artwork will be fired and then displayed for the duration of the exhibition, and they will be available for collection from November 2025 after the exhibition closes. Children will be able to take away a souvenir on the day of the workshop and the exhibition opens in June where they will be able to see their artwork on display!
