The Feathers and the Feminine installation was created by members of Interface Arts in memory of their friend Carolyn Corfield, who passed away last year. A creative and dynamic member of the Durham based group, Carolyn primarily produced sculptural ceramics, some of which are on display as part of the installation.

Inspired by Carolyn’s core themes of women and peacocks, as well as objects in the Oriental Museum collection, the 10 contributors have produced a diverse range of eye catching works which are displayed throughout the museum.

Created in textile, ceramic, glass, metal, paper, paint and ink each work is unique, just like Carolyn.

Many of the works featured in the installation are for sale with the proceeds from Carolyn’s work going towards St Teresa's Hospice.
