Explore Durham University’s Museum of Archaeology Greek and Roman collections with artist Sarah Li in this unique workshop. Delve into LGBTQIA+ histories, engage in Queer storytelling, and create your own piece of embroidery.

Discover items from our Ancient Greek Collection and the significant local Roman Collection from Piercebridge. During the workshop, you'll discuss LGBTQIA+ histories, respond to the collections through Queer storytelling, and learn basic embroidery techniques. You can choose to tell a story with embroidered words or create an image based on your inspiration.

All skill levels are welcome! Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced embroiderer, Sarah will guide you through the process. Enjoy a creative space where history, storytelling, and art come together.
About the Museum of Archaeology Collections
The Museum of Archaeology collections focuses of the archaeology of the North East, but the collection also includes national and international material, such as the Ancient Greek Collection. This workshop will use items from the Ancient Greek Collection and our significant local Roman Collection from Piecebridge.
