Cuthbert Tunstall is one of Durham’s most interesting and least understood Bishops. Not just a religious figure, Cuthbert was a diplomat, mathematician, book collector and gardener who survived and thrived in Tudor England. Find out more in this talk.

This talk by Assistant Curator David Wright will share some of the stories revealed while researching the Tunstall and The Tudors exhibition at Durham Castle, putting you into Cuthbert’s shoes to vote on some of the big decisions he faced in his lifetime.

This talk is part of the Thursday Twilight Openings at Palace Green Library. The talks take place on the 4th Thursday of every month at Palace Green Library. Find out more about the museums and the collections from across Durham University, including Archive and Special Collections, Art Collection, Cosin's Library, Durham Castle Museum, Museum of Archaeology and Oriental Museum.  No need to book and all welcome. 

World Heritage Visitor Centre and the Museum of Archaeology are also open until 7pm during the Twilight Openings.
