Biography
Ayse joined Durham University Business School in 2012 after completing her PhD at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, USA.
Her research focuses on matching problems, market design and mechanism design. She studies stability of matching in markets ranging from one-to-one to many-to-many matching models and include house allocation, marriage markets, college admissions, hospital-intern markets, entry-level and senior-level labour markets as special cases. Ayse pursues a game theoretic approach to matching problems and studies strategic interactions among the participants in the aforementioned markets.
Ayse holds the role of the co-director of Non-single Honours Programme in Economics and Finance since September, 2020. She contributes to maintain high levels of student satisfaction via good quality guidance and effective collaboration with the three faculties of the University, Combined Honours in Social Sciences, Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences.
Ayse has been delivering and leading one of the core modules of Economics, Microeconomics, (which has the largest class size in the undergraduate programme) since October, 2013. She designed and launched the 3rd level undergraduate Game Theory and Applications module and has been delivering it since October, 2016. She was also involved in the delivery of Masters level Advanced Microeconomics and Level 1 Math and Statistics modules.
