International River Boundaries Database

The International River Boundaries Database has been compiled by IBRU to provide the most accurate information available related to river boundary sections, including their length and definition.

The database features more than 1,100 river boundary segments around the world, with KML files for viewing the segments in Google Earth.

The IRBD includes all recognised international boundaries as well as known de facto boundaries (e.g. North Korea-South Korea, Israel-Palestine, Cyprus-Northern Cyprus) and the total land boundary lengths utilised for most of the boundaries within the IRBD are drawn from the CIA World Factbook, except where noted.

JRV Prescott Database

For over sixty years, Victor Prescott was one of the leading lights in international boundary studies.

In December 2016, his widow, Dorothy, provided IBRU with the definitive bibliography of Victor’s works. We are honoured to host this bibliography, as well as a brief biography of Victor, also written by Dorothy, on the IBRU website.
