The Centre for the History of Medicine and Disease (CHMD), reports to the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and is an affiliated centre of the Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing.

The CHMD promotes:

• Interdisciplinary research projects and research income generation
• Collaborative research with other relevant centres in the UK and abroad
• Postgraduate education in the History of Medicine and History of Science
• Public understanding of the historical dimensions of health care and medical science
