A versatile box-to-box midfielder, occasionally dropping into her natural position of defense. Alexandra Gatt is one of Team Durham’s rising stars within the women’s football programme and one to keep your eye on! Alexandra is a first year undergraduate, studying Natural Science. Alexandra proudly represents St Aidan’s College.

Playing on an international level is something Alexandra is familiar with, being part of the Maltese National Academy since the age of 11; captaining her teams from U16 to currently U19’s. 2022 saw Alexandra represent her home nation of Malta at the UEFA Women’s U17 Championship. Her stellar performances set her up to be promoted to Malta U19’s Women’s Squad. During her journey, Alexandra gained 20 international caps at youth level. Her biggest achievement to date was earning her position on Malta's Senior Squad.

Alexandra played for the National Squad during FIFA's Women’s World Cup Qualifiers in 2021 against Denmark, and was recently called up against Luxembourg in February 2023; winning 3-1. Alexandra and her Team Durham teammates are thriving this BUCS season. A dominant run in the Aldi Women’s National Championship sees Alex and the first team progress into the semi-finals of the national cup, where they face Nottingham.

Everyone at Durham University and Team Durham would like to wish Alexandra the best of luck with her future representation of her home nation Malta. Also, the best of luck to Alexandra and her teammates in their upcoming semi-finals.
