Key Dates for 2024/2025 academic year

Induction Week

Induction week takes place 30 September 2024 to 6 October 2024. You will find a timetable for the events relevant to you via your personal WoW planner page (Durham University) - coming soon.

Term 1 (Michaelmas Term)

Teaching dates 7 October 2024 to 13 December 2024.

Term 1 Examinations week

Assessment week for Term 1 examinations is 2 January 2025 to 10 January 2025. These dates are still provisional and the exact dates of your assessments will be confirmed when your programme begins.

Christmas Vacation

14 December 2024 to 12 January 2025.

Term 2 (Epiphany Term)

Teaching dates 13 January 2025 to 21 March 2025.

Easter Vacation

22 March 2025 to 27 April 2025.

Term 3 (Easter Term)

Teaching dates 28 April 2025 to 27 June 2025.

During this term you will attend revision lectures in preparation for your May/June 2025 examinations and also submit your Term 2 summative assignments. After the May/June examination period you will begin your Dissertation.

Examination Period for Term 2 Modules

The Examination period will take place May/June 2025. A more detailed timetable will be circulated in due course.

Dissertation Period

You will work on your Dissertation from June to September 2025. Please note that students are expected to be in Durham for the dissertation period.

Resit Period

A more detailed timetable will be circulated in due course. However, this is normally mid to end of August 2025.

Dissertation Submission Date

5 September 2025.

Graduation/Congregation

Successful students will graduate in January 2026 (exact date to be confirmed).
