Dr Nourin Shabnam is an Assistant Professor in Economics at Durham Business School. She holds a PhD in Economics from Deakin Business School, Australia with a dissertation titled “Essays on early-life malnutrition and adulthood socioeconomic outcomes: Bangladesh evidence.”
Dr Shabnam has more than nine years of teaching experience working with several universities, e.g., Curtin University, Australia and Monash University, Malaysia. Currently, she is teaching the Economics of Sustainability and Development Economics at Durham University.
Dr Shabnam has published several papers in reputed international journals, including the Journal of Economic Behaviour & Organisation and Economic Record. Her current research interest focuses on the economics of exogenous shocks (e..g., famines, floods and earthquakes) and their bearings on long-term socioeconomic outcomes.
