Staff profile

Nadia is a PhD candidate at Durham University Business School under the supervision of Dr. Tyrone Pitsis, Dr. Bettina Becker and Dr. Paulo Savaget (University of Oxford). Her research is centred around sustainability and her current research aims to investigate how Bangladeshi Ready-made garment (RMG) manufacturing companies pursue exploration and exploitation tensions to achieve their sustainability goals and remain competitive in the global apparel market. The research will contribute to the nascent literature on sustainability ambidexterity through an in-depth study of a particularly challenging setting (RMG industry in Bangladesh).

Nadia obtained her BBA degree in Management and MBA degree in Human Resource Management from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She received Dean’s Merit Award (twice) and Dean’s Honor Award under the Dean’s Academic Award 2012 as recognitions of excellent academic performance. Besides, she has received multiple scholarships for her outstanding academic performance.

Nadia has been involved in teaching for over 09 years. She is now a Seminar Tutor at Durham University Business School. Aside from her study at Durham University, she is employed by University of Dhaka as an Assistant Professor of Management. Nadia was an adjunct faculty of the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies, University of Dhaka (2014-2020) and she taught management at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) as a guest lecturer (2020). She also taught several courses at different private universities in Bangladesh (such as Daffodil International University and Eastern University). Prior to her study at Durham University, she worked as a student advisor at the Department of Management, University of Dhaka.

Nadia also acted as a senior research associate for a DMP funded project which was conducted by the Center for Trade and Investment (CTI), FBS, University of Dhaka in 2015.
