Joseph Thomas Paniculangara is from Toronto, Canada. Originally from India, he got his graduate education in the USA. He spent his childhood in the UK, Denmark and New Zealand. He has studied, worked in and taught marketing all his adult life. His first career was as an advertising copywriter, his second as a quantitative market researcher and now he is a marketing academic. His research examines the motivations of those who donate to charity. Another area that he researches is the spread of word-of-mouth among social networks. In his spare time, Joseph likes to make people laugh through clown, improv, sketch and stand-up comedy.
