Jane studied for her first degree at Manchester University (BA Jt Hons in Law & Accounting) and has since become a Fellow of the institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax (CIOT). She started her professional career as a tax consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and also gained experience with EY and Grant Thornton as a forensic accountant before focussing on professional accountancy training. She has substantial experience as a lecturer, subject specialist, examiner and author for ICAEW, ACCA, CTA, ATT and CIMA qualifications, and is currently an examiner for the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) for their Business Planning Taxation Paper.
Outside of work, Jane has a passion for travel and nature. She climbs mountains and rides her motorcycle whenever she can.
Mini Biography
Jane joined Durham University in 2021, having previously worked in professional exams training at BPP Professional Education and latterly as a freelance lecturer providing services to a variety of accountancy and tax tuition providers. Prior to her teaching career, Jane, a graduate of Manchester University, worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, EY and Grant Thornton, and is both a qualified ICAEW Chartered Accountant (FCA) and a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA).
