Biography

Dr. Kathy Danyang Wei is an Assistant Professor in the Accounting Department at Durham Business School. She joined the School in January 2024.

Kathy completed her PhD in Accounting Information Systems at Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey, under the supervision of Prof. Alexander Kogan and Prof. Miklos Vasarhelyi. Her dissertation explores the application of machine learning to accounting data for full-population testing. She also holds an MBA in Professional Accounting degree. 

Kathy's research focuses on applying advanced data analytical approaches to solve practical accounting issues. One of her research proposes a methodology to automatically extract target information from financial reports in PDF format.
