Introducing Waterside
Excellent new facilities for the Business School.
In September the Waterside Building in the Sands area of Durham City Centre opened its doors for the first time. The Waterside building offers the Business School exceptional facilities in the heart of the city and compliments the existing offering of Mill Hill Lane.
The Business School has produced a walkthrough video that highlights the key features of the four-story building in 2 minutes.
Waterside is home to MBA, DBA and executive education with dedicated areas and resources. However, it is a resource for the whole School and its informal touchdown and study spaces are proving popular with all business students. The Executive Education Hub at Waterside is an important feature of the new building providing dedicated first-class facilities enabling the delivery of research-led support and development opportunities to both organisations and individuals.
Alumni visitors
One of the first visitors to be welcomed to the new building was alumna, Ofentse Lekwane who visited Professor Joanna Berry to discuss her business start-up, Wakari.
The impressive facilities also make the building an attractive conference venue and the inaugural annual MBA alumni conference entitled The Future of Work was one of the first events to be held at Waterside.
Associate Dean for MBA programmes Mike Anthonisz said, “The conference was a great success, and the returning alumni were very impressed with the new facilities. The executive lecture theatre witnessed a range of presentations and stimulated lively debate amongst the attendees. Special thanks to all our speakers”.
