Part of the Durham Inspired Live virtual series, Professor Sadanandom will discuss sustainable food systems and how they link to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, reducing the carbon footprint of those systems and adapting for resilience. He will also look at biodiversity and balancing the need to provide food with protecting endangered species.

What contribution can Durham University make?

Durham’s strengths in the sciences can support low-carbon, climate-resilient food systems. Professor Sadanandom will talk us through sustainable food production and consumption along with biotechnologies. He will then review the priorities for research and development from a Durham perspective.

The event will consist of a 35 minute lecture followed by Q&A.
