Durham University hosts a range of lecture series delivered in Durham. Lectures tend to take place during Michaelmas and Epiphany terms, with the new timetable of events confirmed in September each year. If you have missed out an event, you can often watch them online afterwards.

Institute of Medieval and Early Modern Studies (IMEMS) Lectures

Each year the IMEMS hosts a seminar series around a particular theme or topic, a number of public lectures, and a variety of conferences, colloquia and other types of event.

Institute of Advanced Study (IAS) Fellows' Public Lecture Series

At the core of the IAS is the IAS Fellowship and Fellows who contribute to the Institute’s annual theme. Whilst at the IAS, Fellows participate in a wide range of events including seminars, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, and public lectures, the majority of which are addressing cutting-edge topics under the umbrella of the Institute's annual theme and are listed in the Institute's Annual Programme. Fellows engage and forge strong links with one another and usually with at least one department at Durham and integrate within their Colleges. All IAS Fellows deliver a public lecture to inform an interested public who want to learn more about their cutting-edge research.
