Visitors of all ages are invited to explore the many ways in which stories can be told. A diverse and exciting collection of storytelling artefacts, including shadow puppets, theatre costumes, folk instruments, anime cels, movie posters, and more from various cultures and time periods showcase the universality of telling tales.
As you learn the different methods there are to tell stories, experience our exhibition in your own way, through our written guides, our audio recordings, our digital screen or our museum-wide trail designed specifically for young learners.
Step into the role of a storyteller yourself and learn how to create shadow stories on the wall, see your reflection wearing the face paint of a Peking Opera actor and don't forget to tell us your favourite story or draw your favourite character to stick on our story wall.
This exhibition has been curated by students studying for the MA in Museum and Artefact Studies at Durham University.
