Hispanic Studies colleagues Penelope Johnson and Lara Escudero-Baztan have been shortlisted for the Blended & Presence Learning Award at the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2025 for their project Empowering Students: Integrating Online Language Exchanges into Higher Education.
We are delighted to share that Empowering Students: Integrating Online Language Exchanges into Higher Education — led by our Hispanic Studies colleagues Dr Penelope Johnson and Dr Lara Escudero-Baztan — has been shortlisted for the Blended & Presence Learning Award at the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2025.
The QS Reimagine Education Awards celebrate innovative approaches that transform teaching, learning, and student outcomes worldwide. This year, over 1,600 projects were submitted across 18 categories, and the Durham project ranked in the top 20%, following rigorous evaluation by more than 800 international judges.
This recognition highlights the innovative work being carried out within Hispanic Studies at Durham, using online language exchanges to create transformative opportunities for students to collaborate and learn across borders.
