This UKERC report proposes a long-term strategic approach to decarbonisation focussed on manufacturing and industrial transformation.

This briefing paper focuses on the manufacturing and supply chain aspects of decarbonisation in the UK. These industrial aspects of energy transition differ from conventional concerns of energy policy with deploying energy technologies and infrastructures for emissions reduction.

Making a Net Zero Society - Follow the Social Science

Report by an independent task force of experts considered the role of social science in UK net zero policy.  It identifies several principles of societal transition and presents recommendations to government about how social science can play a critical role in net zero policy.

    Durham Energy Institute is delighted that our Professor in Practice Andrew Crossland joined the panel for BBC Radio 4 Rethink… Energy on 31st October 2024. The podcast looked at the future energy landscape and what is needed to keep the lights on, charge our many devices and power our electric vehicles in the future.

    On 3rd September 2024, a team from DEI visited Ørsted at their East Coast Hub to celebrate the recent renewal of the DEI-Ørsted partnership and set the agenda for future research. The ongoing partnership brings together Ørsted’s leading industrial insight and intelligence with DEI’s research expertise.
