The El Shaarani Centre for Ethical Finance, Accountability and Governance (EFAG) is pleased to announce an online seminar on Academic (Accounting) Research: Interdisciplinarity, Engagement and Impact, presented by Professor Charles H. Cho from the Schulich School of Business, York University, Canada, Editor, Accounting Forum, the Accounting and Business Ethics Section Co-Editor, Journal of Business Ethics, Associate Editor, Business & Society.

This seminar will discuss how accounting research conducted from a true interdisciplinary approach can benefit society to a greater extent. I will also highlight the importance of finding ways to engage with a broader set of non-academic stakeholders (such as practitioners, executives, media, regulators and/or policymakers) to make accounting research more impactful for broader society. I will then talk about a recent initiative to help create and strengthen bridges between academics and practitioners (and beyond) and provide some examples of engagement and impact work.
